Certified LeSS Practitioner - by Craig Larman Denver: June 24-26

Learn with Craig Larman—the co-creator of LeSS—in this 3-day highly-participative course. Participants (senior managers, product developers, ...) explore a deep understanding of LeSS, Large-Scale Scrum, for lean & agile development with many teams working together on one product. We explore adoption, new organizational design, systems thinking & optimization, the role of management, and concretely how to work together in a Sprint at scale in terms of coordination, architecture, planning, and more. See the full course description

(Aside, but noteworthy: Course runs until 18:00 on day 3; for certification, full attendance required)

About LeSS

LeSS (Large-Scale Scrum) is the simple high-impact framework for scaling lean and agile development designed to optimize the whole system. It’s based on over a decade of adoptions in many big groups worldwide (e.g., see case studies). You may learn about it at less website.  You may also learn about less from the three books on LeSS that come from that decade of experience: (1) Scaling Lean & Agile Development: Thinking & Organizational Tools with LeSS, (2) Practices for Scaling Lean & Agile Development: Large, Multisite, & Offshore Development with LeSS, and (3) the latest book, More with LeSS.

Unlike some other scaling frameworks, LeSS does not define a one-size-fits-all detailed recipe, and like Scrum, is based on recognizing that development is too complex and situational for a prescriptive detailed recipe that a group can just “buy and install.” Rather, it will require creating a learning organization, and lots of situational adaptation. There are no fancy titles, no trains, no layers of management, but when you simplify and descale, you ought to be able to achieve more impact and flexibility with LeSS.

About Craig

Craig Larman is the co-creator of LeSS (Large-Scale Scrum) with his friend and colleague Bas Vodde. He works as an organizational design consultant, introducing LeSS with executive teams for very large and multisite product development (often, HW-SW systems). He also works with product management for highly complex product definitions, and hands-on as an embedded-systems legacy code C and C++ TDD coach with feature teams, to keep in touch with the real work and workers.

In addition to course material, each participant will also receive 2 books on LeSS:

  • Large-Scale Scrum: More with LeSS

  • Scaling Lean & Agile Development: Thinking and Organizational Tools for Large-Scale Scrum
